There is a car repair shop near me, keeps a laptop right on the counter. Not chained down or anything, Hypothetically one could just walk in grab the laptop and run out. Ive been thinking about the best way to get away once you have snatched and grabbed.

Could a laptop in a store also contain personal info about clients on it?

Yes it definately could, and probably does. Credit card numbers and such. Probably no SS #'s though .

well hypothetically all you need is the number to make charges. Idealistically having the number but not the card is the best way to fuck someone over. you can have things shipped to their house while they're say on vacation and the charges would never be traced back to you...

The people would see charges on their card, might go say something like 'i don't think i charged this' to their credit card company. The credit card company could go to eBay or where ever and ask them 'what IP address bought this awesome stuff?' eBay would say something like 69.231.211.1. The next day you put on your new pajama pants and open the door to get the mail, but there is two big stereotypical FBI guys there wanting to ask you a few questions.

first off never ever use your computer and if they use wifi which most people do you can easily hop on their internets most people use passwords that they can remember so you see their "internet name" and if you arrange it around a little you can likely get in so. 69.231.211.1. becomes 68.112.253.158 and badda bing badda boom someone else is in deep sheeeeit
